Stir-fry can take on many different flavors, but this simple and easy stir-fry has a sweet and savory flavor due to the marinade on the skirt steak. I like to serve this on cauliflower rice or regular rice depending on the day! This meal cooks very quickly, so get your rice of choice cooking before you start this meal because your dinner will be on the table before you know it!
It was cold outside the evening I made this stir-fry, so I opted to use a cast-iron pan, but it is just as quick and maybe easier on the grill. Either way, get a screaming hot cooking surface and sear each side of the meat. I like skirt steak a little pink, so I cook for approximately 3 minutes on each side and then let the meat rest for about 5-7 minutes. This allows it to keep cooking for a few and lets the juices reincorporate back into the meat so that when you thinly slice the steak, you won't lose all the juices on the cutting board.
While the meat is resting, get your veggies cooking. Heat a pan to medium-high heat (use the same pan if you cooked your meat inside) and add 2 teaspoons of avocado oil. Add 1-2 cubes of frozen ginger (depending on your tastes for ginger.) Toss in your bag of TJs Frozen Stir-Fry Vegetables and heat through. Once the veggies are cooked through, add 2 teaspoons for coconut aminos and a good dash (1/4-1/2 teaspoon) of TJs Toasted Sesame Oil.
Finally, it is time to slice your skirt steak. Thinly slice it against the grain. Plate this by making a base with your rice (cauliflower or regular), top with a good helping of veggies, and then place your steak on top. We like to sprinkle with Nori Komi and then drizzle with the new TJs Chili Sesame Oil. Fair warning, this oil packs some heat, so drizzle with care! Now, sit down and enjoy your creation!!
